When you request annotations, use the selected-text context menu, or enable automatic annotation for a website, the extension reads the relevant webpage text and generates pinyin locally in your browser. Webpage content is not sent to the operator or Tally.
Reading level, annotation settings, and enabled website rules are stored by Chrome in sync or local extension storage. Website rules are not synchronized to other devices.
If you voluntarily submit feedback, the feedback text and optional email address are sent to Tally to handle product feedback and support. They are not sold or used for marketing. See Tally's privacy policy.
The optional website permission is requested only when you enable “Keep annotating this site after refresh”. You can revoke it in Chrome extension settings.
Change or remove settings in the extension, uncheck a remembered website, revoke its permission, or uninstall the extension and clear its data. The operator cannot access or delete local Chrome storage on your behalf.
We will update this policy before introducing accounts, analytics, remote dictionaries, or other features that transmit webpage content.
